Taking Measurements

Measurements should be taken in the undergarment you plan to wear with your wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, or prom dress. Please remember that A Dressy Occasion is not responsible for measurements taken outside of our showroom. BUST - Have the person taking the measurements measure around the fullest point of your bust, across your shoulder blades, keeping the tape level. HIPS - Measurements should be taken around the fullest part of the hips. Hollow to Hem - *Not required for prom or bridesmaid dresses *Hollow to hem measurement is taken from the hollow at the base of the front neck to just above your collarbone to the hem of the skirt.

I ordered the dress in size 14, I have a big butt... The corset is 19 loops from the middle of the back to the middle of the buttocks. The fabric that sits under the corset has no snaps to connect to the other side of the dress, but an easy fix with a few snaps. I was really concerned about the top part because I have a small chest and didn't have time for custom making and the 14 is larger than what I normally wear (10-12). the handle was a little big but once we looked at it, we could see that there were 2 different loops for the hooks! (They come undone very easily, can be replaced with an eye hook, we add snaps.) I'm short, 5'1 and need to take off about 6.5 inches, but my seamstress said it would be an easy hem job. There is no way to animate the train that we could see, so she adds a wrist rope to pull the train up.
