Designer At Floor & Decor (Des Moines, Ia)

Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or previous retail/sales experience

Degree in Design is a plus

Knowledge of hard floors is a plus

Proficiency in basic mathematical skills

Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Basic computer knowledge, including the Microsoft Office suite

Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant role

Greet store customers in a helpful manner and assist with walk-in store design needs

Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store

Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers and builders for residential and commercial projects. At Floor & Decor Designers, designers are responsible for meeting with clients, listening to their project needs, educating them on whatever is required for their project, and creating a creative design concept that incorporates personal style, lifestyle and budget of clients. Medium Duty - Ability to occasionally exert 20-50 lbs of force and/or 10-25 lbs of force frequently, and/or more than negligible up to 10 lbs of force constantly for lifting , carry, push, pull or move objects. The employee is sometimes required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, squat or crawl.
